Dry Cleaning
Dry cleaning is our passion and is actually where Churchill started in 1961.
Some delicate fabrics cannot withstand the rough and tumble of a washing machine and clothes dryer. This is where dry cleaning comes in as it uses chemical solvents instead of water especially due to the fact that some of these delicate fabrics actually degrade in water.
Despite its name, dry cleaning is not a “dry” process; clothes are soaked in a liquid solvent. Tetrachloroethylene (perchloroethylene), which the industry calls “perc”,
After being gently washed in “perc”, items only need a gentle steam to remove light creases before being finished and packaged as per your requirements.
This cleaning process is so gentle that almost all fabrics can be cleaned this way unless the label specifically mentions not to.
